September flowers in the garden sees the changing of flower colours to the 'traditional' autumn colours of yellows, oranges, browns - especially in the perennial plants. Shrubs continue to put their mark on September with mainly whites, but with some foliage tints starting to show towards end of month.
Late summer or autumn - take your pick - depending upon where you live, is a good time in the garden - yet also a reminder that the end of the growing season is near. Hopefully, this September age of flowers will alert you to what you can be planting to extend the period of interest in your garden.
Grasses really start to come into their own at this time - and onwards. The straw-coloured foliage and stems highlighting the other flower colours even more.
Welcome to September, and PLEASE continue sending us your observations as to what you find in your garden - or on walkabouts - that fit in with this page.
