Ronaldo Tulipa Triumph Tulip

This lovely rich looking tulip flower is deep claret-red in colour, reminiscent of a glass of claret-wine. The fine classic globular-shape tulip emerges from mid-green stems with long sword-shaped leaves. This will make an excellent cut-flower for your vases and floral arrangements.

Tulip bulbs need to be planted in late summer or early autumn. They grow well in any moist well-drained soil, and usually best in a nice sunny position. Try to pick an area where they will be sheltered from the cold UK winter winds. These bulbs are best planted at 15cm deep and 13cm apart.

When the flowers begin to fade, dead-head the tulips but let the stems and leave remain until summer. This will ensure that the bulbs are fed for next year and kept healthy.

Culinary note: SOME parts of these flowers are edible. However, some people can have allergic reactions to Tulip flowers. If you touch them and they cause a rash or numbness, then tulip flowers shouldn’t be eaten as they could be toxic.

Tulipa Triumph Snowstar

Growing this hardy triumph tulip will give an elegant, fresh look to your springtime display. Tulip 'Snowstar' is aptly named, producing dazzling white, cup-shaped blooms atop upright, sturdy green stems that create a stunning colour contrast. This tulip makes an impressive impact when planted alone as well as when grown alongside a variety of colours to make a striking show. Grow in beds, borders and containers or cut for a lovely indoor spring bouquet.

Plant tulip bulbs in late summer or autumn. Tulips will grow well in any moist, well drained soil, except for particularly wet soils. Choose a sunny position that is sheltered from strong winds. When planting tulip bulbs avoid shallow planting as this may reduce the winter cold period that is essential for tulip bulbs to produce flowers in spring. Plant them at a depth of 15cm (6") and at a distance of 13cm (5") apart.

After flowering, deadhead the faded tulip flowers and allow the foliage to die back completely before removing it in summer. Caution: Tulip bulbs are an irritant to skin and eyes, and are harmful if eaten.
